Cactus Expeditions is planning its next trip to central Brazil after our very successful one in 2007. In this journey we were able to see over a hundred bromeliads, many of them in flower, and we even found some “new things” (orthophytums) according to Elton Leme, who has been very helpful identifying most of the plants that we saw.
We are planning our 2008 tour to Brazil and would like to offer you the chance to participate. We were very happy with the itinerary that we did last year, however, if we only have “bromeliad fans” we may introduce a few changes to cover the state of Espiritu Santo, home of many interesting bromeliads - this could make the trip become slightly longer. We have already some people signing up. Our minimum is of 10 people, while our maximum Is of 14 participants.
Additionally if we have enough people interested, we may do a bromeliad trip to Northwestern Argentina - where more than 50 tillandsias can be found, plus many dyckia and deuterochonia.
The dates planned for next year’s trips to Brazil are June 9 – June 26, 2008. 18 days, $2750, all inclusive except air fare. Price may vary slightly depending on the number of people participating.
