Monday 30th June 2008 - Whyanbeel Arboretum - travel north by bus along the scenic coast road past Mossman among the lush Daintree hills to the Sargent Family property where they produce floral colour for the cut flower market and father Peri has hybridized many bright cordylines. Son Peter has been collecting and growing plants for over 30 years; many he has grown from seed and the horticultural content is profound. There are many species palm trees, cycads, heliconias, aroids, bromeliads and other exotic plants. Peter’s knowledge of these plants will amaze you. I have been to Whyanbeel Arboretum , and was amazed at how well Peter grows his many Bromeliads . Here is a Vr. gigantea Nova , that is as big as an Alcantarea !
