2009 Future Conferences Meeting

The next Council meeting will be held at the “Bromadelaide” Conference on Monday 13th April at 8:30 am.
This meeting is open to everyone, please arrange for a voting representative from your society.
Should there be any items you want discussed please advise me so they can be placed on the agenda.
There are only two items so far:

2011 Conference: There have been three societies murmuring about hosting this conference.
Should more than one society make a firm offer, the decision would be made by society representative vote and if desired this can be by secret ballot.

Speakers: We need a list of speakers.
Each society has members who are willing to give meeting talks and each society tries to vary these topics. Also when preparing a conference programme a pool of speakers would be of great advantage.
Some members who are willing to speak cannot afford to travel and this list will provide an opportunity for a society to sponsor speakers if necessary.
We should also include those who would prepare a Power Point Presentation but are not willing/able to travel.

Should any attendee choose to discuss any topic with me before the conference, feel free to do so by telephone, email or at the conference.

I have had two separate requests on one topic -
The Australian Bromeliad Society Inc. state on their website they are "Australian Council of Bromeliad Societies"
As we now have a 'Council" of societies the statement should be removed from their website.

(Ian Hook, President & Webmaster of the Australian Society has agreed to delete this item.
As we discussed this before the meeting, it was not included on the agenda at the conference)
